But Bussey said he was livid when he made it to the front of a long line of 50 people waiting at an area Best Buy and was told that people behind him could jump ahead if they were paying by credit card. Bussey said he was given no explanation why extra lanes were open for credit cards only, and he received no response from an e-mail complaint to Best Buy’s Web site. Other people standing in line on the busy evening also were trying to pay with cash, because Bussey said workers had to go back eight to 10 people to find someone paying with credit. But since everyone has to be assigned a cash drawer and be responsible for balancing it at the end of the day, workers who jump in to help can’t process cash sales; they handle only credit-card sales, Nezworksy said.
