Puducherry Electricity Department signs agreement with NTPC - Hindu- Loan Quantum
Indrajit said the first phase of the Simhadri II Power Plant with a capacity of 500 MW would be commissioned by 2010-2011 and that NTPC had already signed PPA with the Governments of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Vaithilingam said the Government would sign another PPA with the NTPC for 50 more MW of power from a thermal power plant coming up at Vallur near Chennai. This power plant is a joint venture between the NTPC and the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board with a capacity of 1000 MW. There are many more PPAs in the pipeline including one with the Koodankulam Atomic Power Station under the National Atomic Power Corporation,” he added. Learn more
