I just went to a PayDay loan website just to see what they charged in interest. It’s kind of hard to figure out because they don’t actually give you an annual interest rate like most lenders do but here was their “fee”.

To borrow $100 for 14 days, the “fee” was $18.62.

So I figured, there are 52 weeks in a year so I multiplied $18.62 x 26 to get the annual interest rate.

You are paying something like 450% interest to PayDay loan companies. Why on earth would anyone do that?

Get the collection paid off first and start managing your money responsibly if you ever want to have ANY chance of having good credit and being able to get a normal loan at normal interest rates.

At the moment, your chances of getting any type of loan other than another 400% payday loan, are pretty remote.

Nope, anything that goes to collections will negatively effect your credit and therefore any future loans (at least roughly 7yrs outs). You might be able to get another payday loan or title loan because I don’t think they check your credit. But, as you may know, those things have high interest rates and the loans aren’t that large. In fact, if you are hurting bad enough to need to utilize this type of loan you would be wise to consider digging your heels in and taking on a second job to pay off debt.

Nope, once it goes to collections, it will show up on your credit report.
