GREENSBORO - Lost in all the hoopla surrounding the Wyndham Championship’s move back to Sedgefield Country Club last week was Kris Spence. Spence said that tournament officials, such as Bobby Long, the chairman of the foundation board, asked a lot of questions about the length of the course and what Spence was going to do with the layout. What excites Spence is the fact that the PGA Tour players will have to think their way around Sedgefield - and with the nuances of the hilly fairways and twists and turns throughout it will be a challenge to hit the ball to the proper spots. Spence, who got his start as a superintendent at Forest Oaks Country Club and was there from 1985 through ’89, was thrilled to get the chance to work on Sedgefield. Learn more
